Have you watched The Dark Knight Rises yet peachies? Well, I finally watched it and found myself drawn to how elegant and beautiful both Anne Hathaway and Marion Cotillard looked in black in the charity ball scene. Many people don’t think of black and white for their wedding but it is actually such a gorgeous and elegant colour combination, it would be perfect for any kind of formal event. Channel Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffanys to achieve a bold and sexy yet elegant and graceful look that will leave your guests ooh aa-ing over every little detail.
However, if you’re of Asian descent like yours truly here, the mention of a black and white wedding to the parents would probably give them a heart attack so you might need to tweak your pitch to them. Just throw a pop of colour into the mix and you will have an equally elegant colour palette but with a bit of oomph. I particularly love yellow on the black and white combination. The yellow adds a bit of pop and cheer into the colour scheme whilst still maintaining that look of classic elegance. I’m sure your parents won’t have any complaints there!
I am totally smitten with this black, white and yellow inspiration board! Are you?
