Wedding Ideas for Tea Lovers

A dear friend recently got engaged and she’s a major tea lover so I thought it was the perfect time to round up some wedding ideas for tea lovers! There are lots of little touches you can make to your big day to create a tea themed wedding, a lot of which even add a bit or rustic or vintage sophistication to the mix which can be just oh-so beautiful, particularly in a garden setting. Whilst I’m more of a coffee lover myself, there’s just something so comforting about wrapping your hands around a big mug of tea that incorporating some tea details into your big day makes it that little bit cosier.

Vintage Tea Tin Centrepieces

Vintage tea tins are not only lovely to display in your home, they’re the perfect vessel for your wedding floral centrepieces. With their lovely patterns, beautiful lettering and variety of colours, they’re so gorgeous visually! New or vintage, these containers are inexpensive and easy to find at specialty-food stores, sales and online.

Teacup Floral Arrangements

Mixing up teacups and teapots filled with beautiful florals make for beautiful arrangements. Whether you display them on your table as centrepieces or hang them from shephard’s hooks along the aisle, they’re perfect for garden, rustic or vintage styled weddings.

Tea Bag Wedding Favours

Give guests bags of your favourite tea as gifts to take home. You can DIY your own tea bags using pretty papers, package them up in a variety of ways to suit the look and feel of your wedding or line them up at your beverages table for guests to enjoy throughout the night. I particularly love the below idea of little cookies in the shape of tea bags. Delightfully yummy me thinks!

Tea Cakes and Dessert Tables

How about setting up a little ‘high tea’ dessert table filled with delicious sandwiches and tea cakes. It doesn’t always have to be cupcakes right? Think delicious pastries, dainty sandwiches, tarts, pies and homemade cake slices. Your guests will love nibbling on these with a cup of tea on the side!

Decorative Items

Decorative items such as small milk jugs, sugar pots, tea cups look lovely when mixed in with your table centrepices. The beauty is they don’t even have to match and every table can be a little bit different! Sometimes little touches go a long way in adding a bit of style to tables.

Tea Towel Invitations

I love the idea of sending out your save the dates, wedding invitations or thank yous on tea towels! Who wouldn’t love receiving one of these babies in the mail right? They’re the perfect keepsake for guests and let’s be honest, you can never have enough tea towels in your kitchen. Invitation Tea Towels has a great collection so be sure to check them out here.
