Today I bid farewell to my career as a lawyer. Having worked 6+ years in the industry, I have decided to take the leap to pursue more creativity in my life and to do something that makes my heart leap – enter – world of weddings. I am excited about this new adventure, am pumped and I can’t wait to see where this will take me!
As a daily peruser of books and other literary content during my stint as a lawyer, I felt it necessary to wave bu-bye to that chapter of my life with some literary love. I love the idea of a bookish themed wedding surrounded by books and vintage papers. Think library or bookstore and include lots of books – stacked up, cut up, layed out – they make beautiful centrepieces or table numbers. Include typewriters or library check-out cards and have guests type or write special messages for you as alternatives to the traditional guest book. Share your favourite literary quotes, poems or your readings about love and marriage with guests and even use these as conversation starters. Set up a card catalogue to organise your escort cards or act as your wishing well. There really are just too many literary themed ideas you can incorporate into your day, here are some of my favourite ones.
