I don’t know about you peachies, but I’ve fallen head over heels for succulents. If I were to do our wedding all over again, I would most definitely incorporate these gorgeous little organic beauties throughout the day. Succulents are so beautiful, so full of colour and texture – whether they’re thrown into the mix with other colourful blooms or singled out on its own, they make for a simple yet intriguing addition to bouquets, boutonnieres or centrepieces. In addition to incorporating them into your floral arrangements, you can also add a personal touch to each place setting with a pretty succulent or add a few succulent sugar flowers to your wedding cake, wear them in your hair, use them as place cards or even give them away as wedding favours. Best thing about succulents? They’re available all year round so you don’t have to worry about whether you’re having a spring or winter wedding. Oh and did I mention they’re eco-friendly and long lasting? Bonus!
For those of you in Hong Kong where there are a lack of alfresco wedding venues and garden weddings are hard to come by, succulents are the perfect way for you to bring the outdoor in. Think succulents, moss, driftwood, fruits and other beautiful blooms if you want to add some alpine interest to your wedding.
As for a colour palette? I’m loving succulents thrown into the mix with tones of peach, blush and taupe. The natural green of succulents add an organic pop of colour against the otherwise demure colour palette. If that’s not enough colour for you, add a touch of vibrant raspberry into the mix and for an even fresher look, add some fresh berries into your floral arrangements. Delicious!
