What do you get when you mix vibrantly rich colours, spiny and textured florals, luxe details and stunning images together? Gorgeous rustic romantic wedding style of course! Brought to us lucky peachies today by the lovely and talented team at Chalk and Cheese Photography, this rustic winter wedding themed photo shoot is just the bit of winter prettiness to take my mind off the smoldering heat that is Hong Kong right now. The vibrant florals are positively stunning and need I remind you how much I love seeing succulents in arrangements?! Probably not. Every bit of this photo shoot is a gem and I’m sure you’ll agree once you join me in soaking up all the gorgeousness right here.
From Melody of Chalk and Cheese Photography: “Winter tends to be the off-peak season for weddings, which means for the smart bride and groom this is always the perfect time of the year to take advantage of special deals from most suppliers. It’s also a great time of the year for a garden wedding. We wanted to show how you could use greenery and what is usually considered a ‘Spring’ wedding venue to achieve a romantic rustic wedding. We used a colour palette of grayed jade, accented with whites and oranges to create a romantic yet fun feel, and added to this elements of browns to give it an earthy look. A collection of small jars were used for poppys, chrysanthemums and candles which we placed on the wooden table over which we hung a giant frame filled with overhanging winter greenery – this became our aerial centrepiece. The unique winter bouquet of carnations, fern, poppies and succulents completed the floral arrangements. Our invitations, menus and table numbers were created from textured hay cards and tied with white string. We added elements of fun by using old beer bottles with colourful straws and for our bomboniere we used jars of colourful lollies tied with string with a tag ‘Love is sweet’. There was no seating plan, so we just had all the guests name up on the wall and they could grab their name and just take a seat anywhere on the long communal table with the bride and groom. The bride wore a beautiful lace dress finished off with a diamond belt and to complete the rustic look she wore a floral crown of vines and fresh flowers. We’re hoping this inspires more couples to have beautiful, crisp winter wedding.”
