I am absolutely and utterly obsessed with ribbons. I think it stemmed from my childhood where my mum would tie a pretty ribbon of some sort into my braid or ponytail. There’s just something so girly and whimsical about ribbons that it makes me bubble with joy when I see them. Given how budget-friendly ribbons also are, I would really love to see more weddings incorporating ribbons into their decor. They are fun, pretty, playful, whimsical, festive and cheerful – why wouldn’t you want some of that bubbly spirit on your big day? From ceremony programs to escort cards to chair embellishments to reception decor, ribbons are a simple way to add some pop of colour into your wedding as well as being an easy DIY. I actually used ribbons at our wedding with our programs, favours and table decor and really wish that I incorporated more ribbon styles. Check out these ribbon inspirations for your wedding.
Dress your ceremony or reception chairs with ribbons. This is a simple DIY project – just gather up different tones of ribbons that match your colour scheme and tie them to the back of your chairs. Peachy easy. The completed look is incredibly bright and cheerful. Love.
Ribbons add charm to an outdoor wedding ceremony or reception. You can use them as backdrops or casually lay them on tables to add a bit of colour and texture. As backdrops, they make for beautiful photographs!
Ribbon wands are pretty alternatives to flower petals, bubbles or confetti! This was one of the things I wanted to make for my wedding but I never got around to it.
I love the detail on this cake and the prettiness a simple ribbon adds to it – via Juxtapost
