I love embossing. There’s something about the raised texture that just gets me every time I brush my fingers across embossed text. That’s why you might see me feeling my business cards all the time! And if there’s anything else I love as much as embossing, it’s foiling on invitations. I remember when the hubby and I were shown samples of foiling when designing our invitations, we were immediately sold on the pop of shiny colour. So I’m excited that today we have a set of sleek and stylish wedding invitations from my all time favourite stationer Melody of Mr & Mrs.
Melody shares, “Lia & Rhyce were getting married at Carousel in Melbourne – a beautifully expansive, contemporary white space with soaring windows and equally soaring views. Sleek & stylish, nothing rustic or vintage at all (bride’s words!) – I set about creating a crisp and understated design, incorporating Lia’s request to inject a shot of bold colour with touches of black.”
“I have always loved blind embossing and how quietly confident the effect is on stationery – luckily Lia thought so too!”
“We built on the idea to include their hand sketched names in a striking hit of bronze foil – just to shake things up a little.”
“The couple’s suite also included a gift card, rsvp postcard and stationery band with their initials to hold all the pieces together in one neat little package.”
