Happy Mid-Autumn Festival peachies! For those of you in Hong Kong, I hope you’re enjoying your four day long weekend and I hope you all had a lovely Mid-Autumn festival yesterday with your families and ate lots of delicious moon cakes! For those of you unfamiliar to the Mid-Autumn festivities, in Hong Kong, family and friends usually gather for a dinner and afterwards venture down to the beaches, lanterns and candles in tow, to view the moon. It’s always been something that I’ve loved ever since I was a child so I must say I do look forward to the yearly lantern fun and moon cake munching.
Seeing as the Mid-Autumn Festival is very much about lighting lanterns under the moonlight, I figured there’s no better time than now to share some lantern wedding ideas! Lanterns – in all shapes, forms and colours – be it paper, glass, round, square – are a beautiful and cost effective way to decorate your wedding. Lit lanterns are also oh-so romantic – who could resist such a stunning feature at your wedding?
I’ve always loved the look of lanterns strung and scattered above your reception – we even hung paper lanterns about the dance floor in the marquee at our wedding! Pretty right?

Line your aisle with lanterns hung on shepherd hooks – it would look gorgeous!
Lanterns don’t necessarily have to be hung either. Fill lanterns up with flowers and they can make for gorgeously elegant and rustic centrepieces.
Make your own lanterns using mason jars and hang them up for some romantic lighting at night.
The possibilities are endless. There’s no arguing that lanterns make for beautiful and romantic wedding decor though! Are you decorating your wedding with lanterns peachies?
