Easy Edible DIY Wedding Favour Ideas

If you’ve been racking your brain for wedding favour ideas that are practical and affordable that your guests will love, you’re in luck because today I’m sharing 10 of my favourite edible wedding favours that will have your guests licking their lips at first sight. I personally love being greeted with a little delicious treat when sitting down at a wedding because it’s practical and I’m not left sitting there thinking what to do with that one pair of chopsticks that doesn’t match my chopstick collection at home. Not only will your guests love receiving some yummy foods, but I’m pretty sure your wallet will love the idea too as edible wedding favours can be made and packaged in advance at your bridal party sweatshop and will cost you barely anything. Don’t believe me? Check out some of these ideas. Whether you’re a coffee lover, meat lover or even a health nut, there’s something for everyone here!

1. Jam Wedding Favours

Jam favours or any kind of spreads for that matter, are an easy DIY wedding favour. If you’re handy in the kitchen, you can make your own homemade spread or if cooking isn’t your thing, store bought jams and spreads work too. Just pop them into some airtight mini jars and decorate with a sticker, ribbon or even some pretty fabric matching your colour palette. Your guests can then take these home and enjoy them the next day over a toasty breakfast!

2. S’more Kits

I love the idea of DIY S’more kits. Not only are they absolutely delish, but they’re fun and also easy to put together! All you need are some graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate and voila! Whether you package them up in little boxes or bags, they’re super cute and your guests will love making these at home. You can even add a little tag with some instructions for those who mightn’t be familiar with S’mores.

3. Hot Cocoa

Need I say more? Who doesn’t love a cup of hot cocoa after a night of fun? Fill jars or bags with cocoa powder and mini marshmallows and there you have it! A super easy wedding favour that costs peanuts but guests will love.

4. Cupcake in a Jar

This is an easy and fun twist on the regular cupcake. Don’t be deterred by the sound of cupcake jars because these takes no time to whip up in the kitchen. If you’re not quite the baker yourself, you can easily make these using a cupcake mix from your local supermarket. All you need are airtight jars, mini cupcakes, icing and some helping hands to help assemble these yummy treats. Finish them off with a sticker label on the jar or a pretty ribbon and tag. Your guests will love this new take on cupcakes!

5. Honey and Granola

Are you a bit of a health nut and want to give your guests a tasty but healthy wedding treat? How about some honey and homemade granola? Your guests will be reminiscing about the night before as they enjoy a healthy breakfast courtesy of you. As with most of these ideas, if you’re pushed for time to make anything from your kitchen, this can be store bought as well but packaged up nicely in little jars.

6. Spices

If you’re not a particular fan of sweets, there are also many savoury treats that you can give your guests. Like spices for example. I’m pretty sure the hubby would jump with joy if he ever came across a jar of BBQ spices or steak spices at a wedding reception. This one’s easy too – just bottle up some of your favourite spices and share it with your guests!

7. Olive Oil

If you hadn’t thought of it before, you can also gift olive oil to your guests. It’s as practical as can be since most people will have use for olive oil at some point. It’s also super healthy and an easy job for you and your bridal party when it comes to packaging. Fill up some little bottles with your favourite brand of olive oil and you can call it a night! Easy right?

8. Coffee

This one’s for the coffee lovers (aka me). Fill bags or jars with coffee beans or ground coffee and your guests will have their next morning’s pick me up ready at arm’s length. I would suggest giving ground coffee since many people don’t have coffee grinders at home but it’s up to you!

9. Cookies

Forget giving a traditional cookie to your guests. What about giving them a super cute jar of cookie ingredients? It’s different and kind of fun too if you ask me. This way you can share with your friends and family your favourite cookie recipe! Measure up the ingredients and pop them in a jar and that’s it.

10. Popcorn

I’m a huge fan of popcorn (the more butter the better) and if I were to find these at my seat at a wedding, I’d be super psyched. They’re such a fun and lighthearted treat for your guests that can be enjoyed on the spot. The only problem would be stopping popcorn nuts like myself from gobbling up everyone else’s. If you like this idea, just get popping, pop the popcorn into a bag and seal with a sticker. I would do these as last minute as possible to ensure the popcorn stays fresh though. I’m sure your family members would be more than happy to help out on the day. I mean, how hard is it to make popcorn right?

So what do you think peachies? Any of these edible wedding favour ideas strike your fancy? What are you giving your guests?
