An Intimate Lantau Island Wedding by Bliss Creations

There is something so peaceful and beautiful about this wedding on Hong Kong’s Lantau Island. With the view of the Big Buddha nearby and the fact that the wedding took place on the Bride’s grandparents’ farm, it’s the perfect piece of calm beauty and intimate wedding that makes you want to pick up the phone and give your mum a call. I absolutely love the intimate love that shines through the beautiful photos captured by Bliss Journal. Planned and sent to us by Bliss Creations, this wedding is one that will make you all warm and fuzzy inside.

Kimberly of Bliss Creations shares, “The Bride knew as a young girl that she wanted to marry on her grandparent’s farm.  Purchased by her grandfather in 1946, the beautiful setting, only steps away from the Po Lin Monastery and overlooked by the iconic Big Buddha of Hong Kong, the wedding of Dominique and Hamish was a perfect tribute to the bride’s place of birth and her family’s history in the region.”

“The 2-day event began at the Shek O Golf & Country Club where the HK Sea School bag piped Dominique and Hamish into their civil ceremony, followed by a traditional lion dance and a ceremonious cake cutting with the family sword. The following day, guests where transported to the unique location on Lantau Island where the couple had a religious blessing and exchanged their vows.

“After the ceremony, over 120 guests enjoyed cocktails around the garden pool and then were invited to take their seats along two 30ft long tables under a romantically lit canopy. Set with bright flowers in a variety of vases along with yellow Chinese lanterns and many candles, women were treated to Chinese perfume bottles at each place setting while all guests where thrilled to discover a custom designed plate matching the theme of the celebrations.”

“Ensuring an intimate feeling, bottles of wine were made available for guests to help themselves while dinner of beef tenderloin, roasted vegetables and potato dauphinoise were served family style. A true East meets West celebration!”

“Speeches by close family members, including a laugh out loud narrative by the groom, had guests in high spirits dancing the night away well into the early morning.”
