Sheer Image Photography has made my Thursday morning a little peachier with this engagement session in the beautiful Australian countryside. I’ll never get tired of the beauty of the countryside and when you throw in an adorable duo with some simple props and a sweet little bicycle amongst the long grasses and never ending fields, it really bumps the peachiness in your day up a few notches. How perfect do Kathryn and Chris look with the pretty Aussie countryside behind them? I think they look pretty darn sweet.
Bride-to-be, Kathryn shares, “Chris proposed to me on a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Hunter Valley (the wine region of New South Wales). That morning was magical. It was the middle of winter and the clouds were sitting low over the rolling hills. It looked like a white winter wonderland below! Somehow in the time between when Chris and I started dating, to when he proposed, my desire for a beach themed wedding had taken a ‘tree change’ because I had fallen in love with the countryside!”
“I’m not sure whether it was the proposal in the country, or our new found joint love for an American country band called ‘Lady Antebellum’ but somehow I learned to appreciate the countryside. There’s something sobering about the Australian countryside. It’s so peaceful and placid yet when the forces of nature come about in an Australian summer you must submit to its powers. It is not a force to be reckoned with. With that said though, there is something about its long grass and never-ending fields that reeks innocence, making me want to frolic around in a dress with my love.”
“On the other hand, Chris has always loved the countryside. His parents live in the Southern Highlands and we love heading down there to visit and laze about in the beautiful old house and amazing spacious garden. It was for this reason we decided to hold our engagement photo shoot in the country atmosphere.”
“Our photographer Naomi, found this perfect little piece of Australian countryside in a small park only 1 hour out of Sydney. Chris and I wanted to make our shoot a little different to the average engagement shoot, so we decided to take a vintage prop. Little did we realize that when we pull the call out to our family and friends for one, we’d end up with a couch, a stool, a rocking chair, a ladder and a bike! Luckily, Naomi was just as excited as we were when we turned up with all the props and as such we ended up with a shoot even better than we could have hoped for!”
