An Alberta Acreage Wedding by Darren LeBeuf Photography

When your parent’s have an acreage that’s as spacious and beautiful as this bride’s, there’s really no question about it – you have to celebrate your big day there. I’m talking acres and acres of beautiful greenery, pretty fences and gazebos and gorgeous overarching trees – it really doesn’t get better than that. Actually it does, because throwing your wedding in a meaningful spot is that little bit extra special and who wouldn’t want that on their big day? Darren LaBeuf Photography was there to capture all the gorgeous details and you can see it all here.

The Bride shares, “I’ve always wanted an outside wedding, free from the restraints so many venues place on a couple’s wedding vision. I didn’t want to have to leave at a certain time, I wanted to be able to decorate wherever and with whatever materials I liked. I grew up on the acreage and love being out there and I knew it would mean a lot to my parents if Jeff and I had our  wedding out there. It was already going to be a special day but having it out there made it even better.”

“For inspiration, I thought the great outdoors would do most of the work in regards to decorating. I’ve always loved hydrangeas so Brenna Voogd did a fantastic job incorporating my favourite flower into the invites, programs, seating chart and general wedding signage. I loved the hydrangea pomanders that hung from shepherd’s hooks along the makeshift aisle for the ceremony. I wouldn’t say our wedding had a theme, but I tried to incorporate hydrangeas wherever I could.”

“There were many challenges preparing for the wedding but they all seemed to stem from having that large an event out in a field! The ground was a little uneven so the chairs were a bit tippy, the dance floor wasn’t level, it took a lot of hoses to pipe fresh water into the tent as well as an industrial size generator to supply electricity for the outdoor kitchen, the lighting in the tent, the toilets, the DJ etc. The logistics behind this wedding were a nightmare but with all the hard work from our families and best friends we managed to pull it off without too many hiccups.”

Indeed you did Amorette! It was such a beautiful wedding. Congratulations to you both!

Thank you Darren for sending these photos my way! Xx
