Today’s beautiful vintage inspired wedding comes to us from the lovely and super friendly Milton of Milton Gan Photography and boy does this couple know how to throw a party! Anna and Ellis’ wedding was the very picture of what we preach here at Simply Simply – full of personal, unique and fun details that beautifully reflected their personalities. It’s about the sweetest little wedding I have ever seen! I mean, any bride who has a bit of trampoline fun in her wedding dress deserves a high five in my books… and did I mention the gelato treat for their guests? Gelato Messina even had their favourite flavour (salted caramel) renamed as “Anna and Ellis” for the day! Now that’s pretty cool. I’m so excited to share this gorgeous wedding with you today!
Milton from Milton Gan Photography shares, “Anna and Ellis are a very stylish couple and their intimate wedding showcased their creative flair, a great example of which were their wedding invitations and order of service booklets which featured a crest and logo that they designed themselves. On the big day Ellis opted to add a quirky twist to his outfit by wearing a colourful pair of odd socks while his best man wore the matching pair. Meanwhile Anna incorporated her love of the colour green by complementing her gorgeous vintage style dress with a killer pair of Alexander McQueen green suede peep toes embellished with menacing gold skulls! Their ceremony was held at the charming little church of St Bede in Pyrmont. As guests arrived they were handed a vintage cinema-style ticket (again designed by the couple) that would entitle them to a post-ceremony treat just across the road at Gelato Messina in The Star Casino complex. As guests arrived at the popular gelato outlet they were thrilled to see that the couple’s favourite flavour (salted caramel) had been renamed as “Anna and Ellis” for the day! After several scoops of gelato we made use of the beautiful sunny weather with location photos around Pyrmont’s Pirrama Park before heading to the leafy setting of Birchgrove, one of their favourite areas to relax, just as the sun set. After a short drive we arrived at Oliveto, a waterside Italian restaurant that had been hired out for the wedding. Guests were seated along two long tables and indulged in a communal feast of Italian fare. After the speeches Anna and Ellis cut a splendid cake consisting of five wheels of cheese adorned with fresh figs and grapes, before their bridal waltz with a twist – literally! Instead of a traditional slow dance the couple unveiled one last surprise in the form of a rehearsed swing dance routine that went for a full four minutes and included twists, turns and dips! This was one of our favourite weddings and perfectly demonstrated how a couple’s personalities can feature throughout their wedding day.”
