“A Day in Sydney” Engagement Session by Origami Creatives

I am and will forever be a Sydney girl at heart. Having spent most of my life in Sydney until I moved to Hong Kong 7 years ago for work, I will always call Sydney my home and to be completely honest, I’m perpetually homesick. That’s why when David of Origami Creatives sent me this beautiful bright and cheery engagement session that shows off the loves of Sydney so well, I jumped at the chance to show you all a bit about my hometown. Coincidentally enough, the shoot took place at Nielsen Park, which is literally 5 minutes from where I grew up and live in Sydney.

Eva and Neo met during their university days in Sydney but decided on having their wedding in Vietnam where most of the family are, so for their engagement session, they really wanted to show those back home what a day in Sydney would be like. Graced with the perfect weather which Sydney is known for, Eva and Neo most certainly showed everyone the best of Sydney with a picture perfect picnic in the beautiful green surrounds of Nielsen Park, followed by a beautiful sunset stroll along the Nielsen Park Beach. Origami Creatives did absolute wonders with their beautiful, soft and light-filled photographs capturing Eva and Neo in their most comfortable state, with each other. Love! …and I just love all the smiles and laughter from Eva and Neo. Love really is beautiful, isn’t it?

Everything about this deliciously pretty in pink picnic screams love to me!

I love the vibrant colours and simpleness of their ribbon backdrop – oh and because you know how I love ribbon decorations!

How beautifully romantic is this?

From David of Origami Creatives … “I met Neo during our earlier days in university when we studied commerce together. It was such a nice surprise when he contacted me years later to meet him and his lovely fiancee, Eva. When Eva and Neo came to see me, they were looking for someone who not only were able to capture their love story here in Sydney, but also to travel to Vietnam for their wedding. It blew me away when I found out that they both intended to fly both Joe and I over to Vietnam for our first overseas wedding to shoot not one, but two back-to-back weddings! We bounced around ideas for their engagement session and came up with a simple concept – a day in Sydney! It also definitely helped that we were blessed with gorgeous weather on the day.

Eva & Neo first met through their cousins in Vietnam when Neo had a stopover whilst heading over to Europe for an extended vacation. Their first date at a cafe lasted over seven hours straight and have been inseparable since.

We were really lucky to have had the opportunity to spend quality time with Eva and Neo during their engagement session. They are an extremely warm and very cute couple and they laugh at each other – a lot! It’s just so sweet to see them together and I feel really special to be able to capture all those moments with my camera – all the laughter, the hugs and the bond between the two. We definitely had a great time shooting their engagement and theirs is exactly what we think engagements should be about!”

I couldn’t agree more David! That’s what love should be about. Thank you so much for sharing Eva and Neo’s engagement with me. I’m feeling a little bit more homesick now but it’s okay because your photos are just that beautiful. I can’t wait to see their wedding photos! xx
